Free 5 Day Autoresponder Course

Autoresponders if used correctly are extremely helpful tools to assist you in automating your Business and help reducing your work load considerably.

The potential usages are amazing and can include sending potential customers relevant information on your Business, Product or Service or any other fixed information. Sending email courses and or newsletters.

You start by creating an account at any one of the many available. You pay a modest monthly fee, depending on your requirements and your in business.

Hosting Impact utilises Autoresponders in many ways and includes sending Newsletters, Business Information or even a "Crash Course on How to Use Autoresponders"

We also use them to develop and build Customer Relations, by offering valued information on a regular basis, both free and paid for, including free courses, Customer Support and so much more. We find that it helps to build trust and an ongoing working relationship with them.

Autoresponders Control Panels or Dashboards have in built tracking capabilities that assist you in determining who has received what and when and what clicks have lead to where. This in itself is a cost effective and time efficient Sales and Marketing component that can not be overlooked. It allows you to run split tests to determine which ad, newsletter or format appeals to your subscribers more.

Probably, one of the more important aspects of using an Autoresponder is that they comply with CAN-SPAM Act and requires subscribers to approve and subscribe to an email. More detailed information can be found here The Australian Communications and Media Authority

You determine when and what time the emails of your particular course are to be sent. The flexibility of this allows you to run several e-courses, newsletters and fixed business information at the one time.

With a paid Autoresponder service you are not limited to just one website, you can create unlimited Autoresponders and Newsletters on multiple domains that you own. The potential, if used correctly is immense and should be considered an important and essential tool in your Business.

Creating Your Website Presence

I was asked recently to provide an example of how potentially powerful Blogs are. Let me clarify that, how potentially powerful, well written and informative blogs can be.

The first thing I do when writing a Blog or Post, is identify and name the Title of the Post. In this case, I have selected Belmont Home Loans as the Title. I do not have any Home Lending experience, nor am I affiliated with any Home Lenders, nor do I make any representation regarding any product, service, lender or planner. This post is written purely to showcase our skills, or lack of skills in writing effective posts.

I then, provide a brief background of the Title eg: Belmont is located on the shores of Lake Macquarie New South Wales, approximately 1 hour north of Sydney and there are approximately 25 000 people living within the area.

Now we dive right into the heart of the subject. Belmont Home Loans. From here you would discuss the various types of Loans or Mortgages that are currently available for people living within Belmont, New South Wales. Read the rest of this entry »

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn’t be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a certain keyword for five times in the content. The keyword density on that page is achieved by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, multiply the above by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The generally accepted standard for keyword density on a website is between 3% and 5%,. This is  believed to be the  most acceptable number to get recognized by the search engines and you should never exceed it.

Remember, that this rule applies to every page on your site. It also applies to not just to one keyword but also a set of keywords that relates to a different product or service. The keyword density should always be between 3% and 5%.

Simple steps to check the density:

  • Copy and paste the content from an individual web page into a word-processing software program like Word or Word Perfect.

  • Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the total number of words in the page.

  • Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you don’t change the text.

  • When you complete the replace function, the system will provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the number of times you have used the keyword in that page.

  • Using the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword density.

Spoke with a customer this morning and it was during this conversation that the question was asked, what does SEO mean ? What is a backlink ? What is a Blog ? and what the hell is Twitter ?

It is so easy to believe that everybody knows and understands what seo is, or a backlink and not to mention Twitter and more importantly what it can do for you. But alas poor Yorick, that is not always the case and with that in mind, we now pressent a brief Glossary of SEO Common Words.

This Glossary is by no means complete and final and is given purely as a guide.

AdSense - is an effective way for publishers, regardless of size or experience, to display relevant Google Ads within their website's content pages. The ads are related to your website content and as such, appeal to your website visitors. This helps in monetizing your website.

Algorithm - is an operational program rule that determines how a particular search engine, like Google, Yahoo and MSN, indexes content and then displays it accordingly.

Alt Tag - A tag that provides alternative text for visually impaired users. Search engines may pick this text instead of graphical images.Anchor text Anchor text is the visible text in a hyperlink. Search engines may pick this up for ranking, although this in itself is no guarantee of a higher search ranking.

Backlink - As the name suggests are inbound links from another web page, pointing to your website.

Blog - Blogs are also known as weblogs. An online Diary with the owner posting random comments, promoting products, services, or information. Posts are made on a regular basis and are increasing in value to both the users and the search engines.

Crawl - When a search engine visits your website and extracts your content for search results.

External links - A link that forwards to a website outside the home domain name (third party).

Flash Intro - An animated short introduction. The website sits behind the Flash Intro and visitors can skip them as a general rule.

Internal links - An Internal link is a link that points to another page within the same website or Domain. Interal Links can also be utilised for navigation purposes.

Javascript - A script language that can be embedded into the HTML of a webpage to add functionality.

Link Farm - A set of interlinked web pages or websites that have been built for the sole purpose of increasing the number of incoming links to a web site, thereby with the aim of increasing link popularity and search engine rankings. TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

Meta Tag - A special HTML tag that provides information about a Web page. Generally used for search engines to describe your website. Please read more about Meta Tags and their Hidden Advantage

PageRank (PR) - Google's method to determine a webpage's relevance, popularity and importance through the quality of sites linking to it.

Referring Page - A Website visitor clicks a link from another website and is directed to your website. The originating website is called the referring page.

SEO - An abbreviation for Search Engine Optimisation (Optimization). Involves strategies to optimize and promote your website in a proven technique, all with the aim of improving your search engines ranking.

Spam - Excessive manipulation to influence search engine rankings.  TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

The above is by no means complete and there are numerous good sources for more detailed explanations.

We trust you have found the above of some benefit.

Until Net Time ...

Australian Domain Names

Australian Domain Names

Your Domain Name or Names are a vital component of your Business identity. They are not only an integral part of your online business but they are also an effective and efficient marketing tool.

The majority of businesses, register their business name/s as their preferred Domain. Where possible and depending upon which Country you live, it may be prudent to secure the .com and .com.au version of your Domain name.

In our case, we secured www.hostingimpact.com  www.hostingimpact.com.au www.hostingimpact.net and www.hostingimpact.net.au

Why ? Simply to protect our brand. We have heard horror stories whereby an Australian Business has secured their .com.au domain and have left their .com domain name available. Their opposition have come through and registered the .com version and then built a site along the same lines and yes you guessed it, customers would forget to type the .au extension and go to the opposition. Let's be honest, for the sake of around $15.00, why would you not secure it.

If you're not ready to design and develop your website just now, thats ok, however, registering your domain name is still an important step to consider.  The added advantage of securing your domain name, is the fact that you can then create personalised email addresses, e.g. support@hostingimpact.com instead of yourbusinessname@hotmail.com

Congratulations, you have secured your Domain Name, now what....Please ensure that your Domain details and registrant contact email address remains valid and up to date.

For additional information regarding Australian Domain Names please visit www.auda.org.au

We trust you have found this post of benefit and should you require additional information please do not hesitate to contact us accordingly.
