There is a general concensus out there in internet land that Meta Tags either don't work or of no use anymore. Be that as it may, We, Hosting Impact, do not subscribe to that theory. True, the search engines may not lend as much weight to them as they once did and we have the spammers, once again, to thank for that. Any useful tool that has been designed to assist everyone, has been exploited by the spammers, used, spat out and disgarded like an old toy, until it serves little or no purpose.

With all that aside, Meta tags still have a place within Websites and the correct implementation of Search Engine Optimisation procedures. Meta Tags offer a hint or clue to the search engines of what lies beneath and within the website. This hint is enough to entice the engines to crawl your website and rank it accordingly.

We are not saying that Meta Tags are the be all to end all, however, we do believe that if you use them and use them correctly, they will provide you with a benefit. How much of a benefit, is up for debate and we are not interested in that. We are more interested in developing and implementing sound SEO practices and web design techniques.

In a nutshell, if the content of your website reflects or relates to the hidden meta tags, then it stands to reason that the spider has a valuable point of reference on the content of that page and more importantly, your keywords and or keyword phrases. Keyword Suggestion Tool

We trust you have found this of benefit. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this in length.

If you want a quick way of finding Websites or Directories that accept your link/s or offer a reciprocal link option then consider using this within Google, Yahoo or MSN:

"Add Link" "hosting"
"Submit Link" "hosting"

Place "Add Link" "hosting" into Google and instead of "hosting", place the word that best suits you, your business and website. Or use "Submit Link" "hosting" to find the best results.

This will then return the search results for websites or Directories pertaining to that particular keyword, that accept or offer a reciprocal linking programme.

We have found that the above two tips have helped to reduce the amount of time spent searching for websites that accept our links. You have the added advantage of being able to look at the actual website, prior to giving your information. If you like it and it measures up, then submit.

Trust you have found this information of benefit.

5. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us' link on each page. Click on the following links as an example:

Domain Names

Should you renew your domain name for a long period of time and if so, how long is long enough ? We know of countless examples of where a Domain Name has expired and been lost and has subsequently been purchased by somebody else.

This can be avoided simply by looking at the length of time you have registered your domain names. For the sake of your brand and peace of mind, consider registering it 5 or 10 years. Please ensure that you have a valid email address when you register your Domain Name and it is kept valid and up to date. Sounds simple doesn't it, however, when customers say that they did not receive any notification, this is one of the first things that we check and 99.9% of the time it is because they are no longer using their hotmail address.

Does registering your Domain Name for 5 or 10 years benefit you within the Search Engines, who knows..who cares, the important thing is to secure your brand.  Search Engine Optimisation can be achieved via far more effective means.

By registereing your Domain Name for an extended period of time, it saves the hassle of dealing with the annual process of renewing them every year.

If your domain name expires and is released to the open market, there's a good chance that someone will register your domain name immediately after it expires. If, for whatever reason, you don't renew your domain name, someone watching a 'watch list' of expiring domain names will try to capitalise on the online business that you've built over the years. They know that there is potential website traffic they can have simply by renewing your old domain name. By renewing your domain name for several years, your domain name won't expire for a while, and it won't be opened up to expired domain name buyers.

Website Traffic is the most essential thing for a website to become a successful internet based business. Aside from ensuring that you have great products and services to sell,  you do need traffic, quality traffic, to be successful.

If you already have a website and yet think that you're not getting the traffic that you want to have or should have, then it's maybe time to review, your current website.

You should always be on your guard and be ever mindful of your competitors websites and review how they are achieving their results. Is it becasue of traffic and if so, How, Where, Why, When.

Generating traffic or more quality traffic to your website, is not as difficult as you might imagine. However, what may be difficult for some webiste owners, is the fact that they may need to do it themselves or engage the services of a company to assist. It is no longer a case of I have built my website, where are my customers. Does not work that way and I seriously doubt it ever did.

Here are three ways to increase your traffic starting from yesterday.

1) Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is a cute little buzz word being thrown around at the moment, however, this cute little buzz word effectively allows you to spread the word about your company and product with minimal cost. This is a marketing method that can be used intelligently, whereby you can attach your company’s name, signature, product or link to any available media such as a You Tube, Twitter, Face Book, Linked In or Community Forum etc.... If used correctly, your website will generate additional traffic as your post, input, video or thread is passed from pillar to post.

2) Correct keywords or keyword phrases for your website

Search engines look for certain keywords that they then display in their results page. So it naturally follows that by having the right keyword and relevant keyword phrase is a high priority for ranking high within the search engines. Case in point: Client wants to be number 1 for the term "Real Estate" however, after much convincing the term "Port Stephens Real Estate" is used, as it is a much better selection ofa keyword, plus, it certainly is not as competitive. End result, the customer is satisifed with the results and they also get a better understanding of why and how relevant keywords work.

3) Write Articles that can lead traffic to your site

Consider submitting articles to websites that contain the similar subjects to yours. For example, you sell car parts, then write press releases and articles about cars and car parts. Include your website description and services at the end of the article. Please remember to include your link. There are a number of Article Submission places that encourage you to write and submit articles on your area of expertise. These articles are then used by other websites on the proviso that the article remains in tact, complete with your link.

End of the day, it comes down to the same rules, if you like and that is that you need to take full responsibility for your website and it's results or lack of. Don't have the expertise, that's ok, contact a company that does, but either way, you still need to do something.

All websites needs visitors. Gee, what a profound statement, no I can not take credit for that.  How original, all websites needs visitors. Sounds simple doesn't it, yet we, Hosting Impact, receive phone calls and or emails daily from website owners that had their websites designed by other companies and want us to provide them with a FREE SEO Report. We gladly do this report as it identifies key SEO factors that, if addressed, will improve how the search engines currently look at them.

The conversation with the customer normally goes like this:

Hosting: Good Morning, Hosting Impact, How may we help you ?
Customer: I have a website and want you to do your FREE SEO Report.
Hosting: OK, How long have you had the website for ?
Customer: about 4 years and we are not being found in the search engines ?

It is at this point, judging from the tone of the customer, that we can also summise that they have not changed, altered and or added information, relevant information to it. The conversation normally ends with the customer saying, "The web design company isn't as good as we thought they were and we have been ripped off. Our response, In some cases, yes that may very well be true, however, in a lot of cases, web designers are not by nature, SEO Specialists or even SEO aware. Nor should they be, it is a different ballgame all together. Additionally, you had this designed 4 years ago. 4 years is a long time in the internet and a lot of things have changed, have you changed your website at all in 4 years ?

Hello.....Hello...Are you there ?

There are certain design principles that have evolved that will certainly assist in search engine optimisation, but overall, web design is not to be confused with true SEO. That is like going to a dentist and asking, while your there, can you check my blood pressure and give me a clean bill of health. It aint going to happen.

A major source of traffic for most sites on the Internet is search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN, etc. Hence, by designing a search engine friendly site, you will be able to rank easily in search engines and obtain more visitors.

Major search engines use crawlers or robots to index websites to list on their search result pages. Once they have it indexed, they read the content of the page, record it in their own database and then display it as people search for it. Simplistically speaking.

If you want to make your site indexed easily, you should avoid using frames on your website. Frames are so yesterday. That is all we really need to say about that.

Refrain from presenting important information in Flash movies or within images. Search engine robots can only read text on your source code so if you present important words in Flash movies and images rather than textual form, your search engine ranking may be affected dramatically.

Use meta tags accordingly on each and every page of your site so that search engine robots know exactly what that particular page is about and whether or not to index it. By using meta tags, you are making the search engine robot's job easier so they will crawl and index your site more frequently.

Stop using wrong HTML tags like <font> to style your page. Use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead because they are more effective and efficient. By using CSS, you can eliminate redundant HTML tags and make your pages much lighter and faster to load.

Use Correct Title Tags when addressing your website.
Use Precise Meta Tags
Use Exact Description
Use Good Content
Use Correct Keywords
Use Alt Tags
Update With Fresh Content On A Regular Basis

Do Not Spam the Search Engines
Do Not Keyword Stuff Your Web Page - Do so at your own peril- You Have Been Warned

By adopting the above Do's and Dont's, you will be better received within the search engines.

Depending on the amount of feedback we receive, we will design a website live, brand new and show everybody the entire process, from start to finish. How to do it correctly. You can sit in and watch the entire process. There will be no charge, it will be completely free, we will not hide any aspect of it. At the end of it, you will be able to use the exact same principles on your own website. If this is of interest, please contact Hosting Impact accordingly.

We trust you have found this post of benefit.

Convincing your prospects to purchase from you or more importantly your website is a hard job, but have you ever thought that you're making the process twice as difficult for all concerned if your prospects are convinced but don't know how to buy from you? No matter how good you are at convincing your prospects, they won't buy if they find the entire process cumbersome.

Firstly, ensure that your website visitors can find your order form easily and that a Buy It Now Button is next to all Products and Services. Sounds simple doesn't it, however, you would be surprised how many websites we review and we find it difficult to purchase from some websites. Consider placing a prominent link to your order page from every page on your web site.

Consider offering various payment options?  They may include Paypal, Paymate, Cheque, Money Order or Direct Deposit. Some Website visitors may only want to pay with their credit card and others may want to send a cheque. The more options you offer, the better your chances of making a sale.  We have spoken with numerous Website Customers and they remain adamant that they will only accept Paypal, obviously that is their choice, however, it is our belief that they are limiting their potetial clients options.

The great thing of utilising Paypal is the fact that all of the security features, functions and SSL Certificates are already in place and are updated on a regular basis.

Consider adding Customer Testimonials to your website and please remember to place your contact information, on all of your web pages. That alone can assist in boosting your prospects' confidence about you, your product and your website.

End of the day, common sense should prevail and if you design your website, with your customer in mind and follow a logical process, your customers will have no problems seeing how, where and why to purchase from you.

We trust you have found the above information of use and should you require additional information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us accordingly.

Creating Your Website Presence

Creating Your Website Presence

What is search engine friendly content.  You may believe it is about stuffing your website with targeted keywords, however, it certainly isn’t.  In fact, if you attempted to do that, you may find that you could fall foul of the search engines if you attempt it.  It is a simple rule and one that will keep you in good stead and that is to write copy that not only search engine spiders will look at, but also human beings will as well.  What is the point of having a site that is highly ranked, yet none of your visitors can understand, nor trust?  So it is vital that your website is user friendly to both your visitors, as well as search engine spiders.

First of all you need to answer the following questions:-

1.           What is your site for?

2.           What does it do?

3.           What do you want your visitors to do when they reach it?

4.           Would you like them to spend money when they get to it?

5.           Or are you just providing them with information?

So the above points will have an impact on the copy that you write for the content of your website.

So whenever possible, use short paragraphs or bullet points, as these are more likely to attract visitors, while more lengthy essays will only drive them away.

But if you are selling a service or product then you need to make your site look interesting.  Provide as many calls to action as you can, and not just provide them with an online price list.

So remember that you are trying to attract the search engines, but at the same time your website should be designed for human readers.  As long as your website has been designed well and with people in mind, then 9 times out of 10 you will find that it is search engine friendly also.

Just like a visitor to your website reads the copy on your page in order to figure out what you have to offer, so does a search engine.  So when a search engine is looking at your web page, they are looking for keyword phrases in your copy (Content), as well as other vital components.

Below are provided a number of tips which may help you in your SEO endevours. The list is by no means complete or final and is provided purely as a guide. For additional information please visit the following link: http://www.hostingimpact.com/search_engine_optimisation_preparation.htm

1.  Although there are no hard and fast rules, the general feelings are that you should have at least 200 words of relevant copy on each page of your website.  Although this may be difficult at times, search engines really like it, so it is important that you increase the amount of copy where and when you are able to.

This text, wherever possible, should include your most important keywords and or keyword phrases, but should still remain logical and easy to read for your website visitors.

2.  Ensure that you use the keyword phrases which you have used within your meta tags and meta description sections for that particular webpage.

3.  Add additional relevant copy filled pages to the site, such as how to articles, tips or tutorials.  Not only do these types of pages help with SEO, but you may find that other sites will link to yours.

These tips, although not infinite or definite should not be ignored, as optimising your web page  (content) is one of the most important things you could possibly do in order to improve your rankings in the Search Engines.

We trust that you have found this information helpful and in the event that you require additional information or assistance please feel free to contact Australia's Leading Search Engine Optimisation Specialists , Hosting Impact.

If you make your page titles as simple, descriptive and relevant as possible, it will make it easier for the search engines to know what each page of your website is about.  This will then allow people to scan through the search results they get, and are able to quickly determine if your document contains what they are actually looking for.

Additionally, it should be remembered that the page title is generally what is used in order to link to your site from the results provided by the search engines.

Above all else, it is important to ensure that the title on each of your web pages refelct the actual content of that page. We believe that it is one of your most important elements of your website.  In fact, some people will argue that this the most important part of any site above all other things. Please visit this website to see an example of correct Titlt Tags

We as Search Engine Optimisation Specialists often see websites that have the same "Title Page Tag" spread throughout the entire website. If you do nothing else, please ensure that the Title Tag on each of your webpages reflect the nature or content of that page and that page only.
