Why Html?
Html websites are the preferred method of creating web sites on
the internet due to the search engine indexing them easier. This
means that the search engines love html pages. You can have pages
in PHP and databases etc however they can be slower to be found
by the search engines.
How do I Upload my Website to the Internet?
To upload your website to our servers you will require a FTP (File
Transfer Protocal) Programme. If you do not have an ftp programme
you may wish to try File Zilla which is an open source free programme.
(type filezilla into google). Please refer to How do I update my
website? Tutorial for more information on how to use FileZilla.
• Using an ftp programme login to the server using the passwords
provided to you by Hosting Impact in your original welcome email.
• On the server side navigate to the public_html folder.
• Double click to open the public_html folder
• Transfer from your computer all files and folders that are
relevant to you website eg images folder, index.htm page to the
server
• Depending on the size of your website this may take some
time.
• Please check your website is working correctly. If your
domain has not yet fully propagated please use the following link
to view your website until it propagates fully:

How do I edit or Update my Website?
To edit your html website you can ustilise a WYSIWYG Html Editor
if you have no knowledge of html.
Hosting Impact does not make any guarantee that the programmes will
always work or are the best available, nor do we receive money from
mentioning their name. Your use of the abovementioned programmes
and or any other HTML Editor is at your own risk.
Should you make changes to your website and have not backed up
your old website and inadvertently make that page / website
inoperable and request Hosting Impact to rectify, if possible
the mistakes, our standard design web design charges apply.
Standard Rates start from $88.00 GST Inclusive per hour or part
thereof.
• For an open source html editor (free) you may wish to
download NVU here - http://net2.com/nvu/download.html
• You may also require a FTP programme to upload your files
to your website. For an open source editor ( Free) you may wish
to download FileZilla . Type FileZilla in google to find the latest
version.
• Once you have these programmes you will need to download
your website to your computer using your FTP programme.
Please note we do not utilize the programmes below and can only
give basic support on them.

Domain Name Renewal
If you have purchased a hosting package with Hosting Impact and
we registered your domain name for you we will renew your domain
name each renewal period upon hosting package renewal.
If you had your Domain Name before hosting with Hosting Impact
you are wholly responsible for the renewal of your domain name unless
you transfer the domain name to one of Hosting Impact Registrars
which enables us to be notified when the domain names are due for
renewal.
How do I backup my Website?
The Manual Method of backing up anything is preferred, however
there is a backup icon on your Hosting Control Panel you can utilise.
Click on the Backup Icon on the front page.
Please read the instructions carefully to ensure you have a complete
and functional backup..
Manual Backup
To Backup your html website manually you will require a FTP (File
Transfer Protocal) Programme. If you do not have an ftp programme
you may wish to try File Zilla. (type filezilla into google). Please

on how to use FileZilla.

• Depending on the size of your website this may take some
time.
Please Note: This procedure does not backup any databases associated
with your website eg shopping cart databases, cms programmes. You
will need to backup your Mysql database separately. Please refer
to Our Backup Database (Mysql) tutorial for more information on
how to do this.
